Your helpful guide for placing a deposit with Swuite Dublin.

From making a booking to paying your deposit with Swuite, here we endeavour to answer the most commonly asked questions to give you a helping hand whilst reserving your student accommodation. However, please contact us if your question does not appear here and you need a more detailed response.

Making a Booking 

Can I change my apartment?

If you wish to change your apartment our onsite management would be more than happy to help and will do their best to accommodate your request depending on availability.

Can I transfer my booking to a different Swuite development?

Of course, if there are rooms available

How and when do I pay the deposit fee?

Your deposit is paid at the time of application booking. The payment can be made by all major credit / debit cards on our website.

How do I book?

Booking your room is easy. The booking process has 4 simple steps and takes around 10 minutes to complete.

How much is the booking / security deposit?

The deposit to reserve your room is €400. This acts as booking confirmation fee until you have successfully received confirmation of accommodation when it then becomes your refundable security deposit. This is a fully refundable deposit once terms and conditions are complied with and on departure from Swuite Dublin your room is left in good condition

Am I eligible to Stay at Swuite

I am doing an internship / placement year or part-time course, am I allowed to live in Swuite Residences?
Yes, as long as you are still registered as a student and your placement is part of your degree/course then you can still live at Swuite Dublin.

Is booking exclusive to students?

Yes, for the academic year, renting is exclusive to student’s or lecturers or overseas visitors to college / universities and all the apartments are designed specifically with students in mind.

Can I pay in full for the academic year on receipt of confirmation of accommodation?

Yes, you will be able to pay in full for the academic year, this will be payable using TransferMate (Global Payments)

What happens if my instalment doesn’t get paid on time?

If you choose to pay by instalments you will be given grace period of 3 days We will issue reminder on the first occasion. If issue persists, we will have no choice but to revoke instalment payment option and request full payment for the remainder of the stay

Who is eligible to book with Swuite?

Any person who is over 18 and who is a student enrolled within an educational institution can live at any of our Swuite Residences.

Living with Swuite

Are there fridges included in the apartments? 

Yes, every apartment has its own fridge with freezer compartment.

Are there kitchen facilities in my apartment? 

Yes, your apartment will include a microwave; oven; hob; sink; fridge/freezer and storage space for your food.

Are there specific times of the day I can move in or move out? 

Move in time is anytime from 2pm on the date confirmed to us.

Move out time is 10am on the date confirmed to us

Can I smoke in my room?

No. As per your Licence to Reside it is not permitted to smoke in any Swuite Residence. There are designated outdoor smoking areas which you are welcome to use.

Do I have to supply my own food?

Yes. There are an abundance of stores and supermarkets, butchers, vegetable shops around the city supplying food from around the world, there are also farmer’s markets and other food markets held regularly at locations around the city. You will also find some of the country’s best restaurants and cafes on your door step. The Park Shopping Centre is beside the DIT Campus on Prussia Street, with a Tesco, ATM, pharmacy, bakery/ deli, Post Office, Medical Centre, hairdresser / barbers, laundry / dry cleaners and a number of other small retail units. There is something to suit all tastes here!

Do I have to bring any furniture?

All our apartments come with high quality furnishings that provide ample storage and comfort. We also provide an iron / ironing board for each apartment.

Do I need to bring my own saucepans, plates, cutlery etc.?

All kitchens are fitted with pots, pan, chopping boards, sweeping brush, cutlery, plates, cups, glasses and all the utensils you will need.

How & where can I pick up my mail?

All mail will be delivered to reception and we will sign for parcels if you are out. We will send you an e-mail to confirm any deliveries. All packages are kept behind reception until you return to collect them. Collection should be made within 12 hours

How safe is my room?

Your room is very safe, all door entry is by key card, all communal spaces have CCTV, on site staff are available 24 hours a day.

Is bedding included with the rent? 

We provide a mattress protector duvets and pillows. You will need to bring your own linen and towels. 

Is insurance covered in my rent? 

We provide fire, flood and other ancillary cover outside your apartment as well as Professional Indemnity cover. The furnishings in your apartment are insured but we would advise you to take out additional cover for your own personal belongings. 

Is there a common room? 

One of the best things about living at Swuite Residences is the amazing communal spaces open for all residents to enjoy. Social and communal areas have been designed to encourage group activities and foster a sense of community. Group study, chill out areas, relaxation areas, games area, TV/Cinema area, cafe and courtyard access are among the common facilities available to all residents. 

Is there a TV in my room? 

Not in your room, but every apartment is fitted with a flat screen TV.  

Is accommodation suitable for mature students? 

Absolutely, you can enjoy the privacy of your own studio without having to share a kitchen or living area but can enjoy the social aspect of living in a development with fantastic communal space. We have only 2 studio apartments however so if you desire self-contained living you need to book quick! Please note however all of our bedrooms are single occupancy in all apartments apart from twin rooms. 

What happens if there is a breakage or problem with my room? 

You can log all maintenance issues with Reception via e-mail.  

Where can I store my belongings over the summer? 

We have no facility to store belongings over the summer period, all rooms will have to be cleared of all personal items and clothes on moving out day. However, there are self-storage facility companies in Dublin and we would be happy to give you their contact details if you wish to use their services.

 

Will I get a cleaner? 

No, all residents are responsible for the daily cleaning and upkeep of their rooms and common areas, including throwing away rubbish so please be mindful of others and respect the building. There will be scheduled inspections of apartments throughout the academic year. We do this to ensure your room is kept in the very best condition throughout the year and minimise the damage. We will have a housekeeping team on site to clean all communal areas of the building outside of your individual rooms and common room. 

Can I book for a friend/friend? 

Provided all the information is 100% correct, and the fees are paid, yes.

Is anything compulsory? 

Enjoying yourself is compulsory.

Is there a programme of activities? 

Yup.  We will keep you updated via our Facebook page and WhatsApp group of all planned activities.

I’m a wheelchair user. Have you thought about that? 

Of course. Please help us to help you by letting us know what your specific requirements are.

I am an international student, do the staff only speak English? 

Our staff is international speaking many languages but we can always access Google translate with our quick Wi-Fi if we don’t speak your language!  

 

Getting to know Swuite

Can I view a room?

Do I have to share my kitchen / bathroom? 

You will have your own bedroom and ensuite bathroom for your sole use however all of our apartments (except for 2 studio apartments) have shared living / kitchen facilities.

Do you allow couples to stay? 

The bedrooms are for single occupancy only (apart from our Twin rooms which a couple can certainly share) and this is reflected in the rent and utilities costs. Overnight guests however are allowed (but not for more than 2 consecutive night and no more than one person). 

I have special requirements for my living needs, can Swuite cater for these? 

We are dedicated to ensuring all of our Swuite residents have an enjoyable and comfortable stay at all of our developments and will always do what we can to accommodate you. If you have any specific needs, please contact us on 01 4853462

Facilities

Can family and friends bring their cars when they come to visit? 

Yes, please note that we do not have off street parking facilities however there is pay and display parking on all of the streets surrounding Swuite Dublin. All our developments are in fantastic city centre locations that are close to the Universities and have great links to public transport.

 Where can I store my bike? 

There are secure bicycle storage spaces provided in the basement of our residence. Students will be able to use one of the secure racks for the duration of their tenancy FREE OF CHARGE. Bicycle storage rack area is accessible through the use of a secure door entry system and is monitored by CCTV.

 Are there laundry facilities? 

There are laundry facilities on the complex (located in the basement) for communal use by all residents. The laundry is equipped with washing machines and dryers. Entry to the laundry is controlled with the card access system. The laundry is coin operated so you need change to pay for your wash and dry. 

Who should I contact if there is a problem with the internet? 

You can speak to one of the reception staff on site.

 

 

Guarantors

What bills do I need to pay? 

Bills are included with residential fees. Utility supplement will be only extra charge that will require to be paid prior to residency commencement.

Utility supplement will cover any excess in electricity & gas use during residency

What is a guarantor? 

You will need to name a guarantor when you make your booking. This person will need to agree to be your guarantor and sign the Licence to Reside. A guarantor is someone over the age of 18 who takes joint financial responsibility for your stay and is liable to pay your rent if you are, for any reason, unable to pay an amount owed to Swuite.

We have the right to pursue this person for recovery of outstanding monies so it is important your guarantor understands their liability.

 Who can be guarantor? 

Anybody over the age of 18 and based internationally that does not live in a Swuite Residence can be guarantor for up to two instalment payments.

Who needs a guarantor? 

All students selecting to pay by instalments require a guarantor.
